Our voices have roots in words, pictures and songs.

There is something truly beautiful when the roots of literature, music and visual art twist together and grow.  Writing music is not unlike writing a story, it can start with an idea, a feeling, an image or even just a few notes buzzing around in our heads.   Music can be written anywhere, on the back of a napkin; it can come to you when we’re brushing your teeth or gazing at a delightful painting. Many times it comes when we’re not expecting it.

We hope that our story, images and song will encourage you to look beyond your perceived creative limitations and like us, not fit into just one artistic category.   It is our belief that music is the “thread” which connects the words, the pictures and so much more, and makes them all inseparable.   We knew from the very beginning Finding Your Voice was not only a story with illustrations, but a song as well. We are happy to share them with you.
